Tattoos are designed from different inspirations. People wear tattoos carrying different impressions that they would like to display. The meanings and images created by tattoos vary. Tattoos fall into three categories: decorative, symbolic and pictorial tattoos.
Decorative Tattoos
These are purely decorative tattoos put on for beauty purposes. These tattoos do not carry any specific meaning. The person wearing the decorative tattoo has no intention of displaying a message. They are creatively styled according to the needs of the wearer. Decorative tattoos can be put on at any part of the body.
Symbolic Tattoos
These are tattoos with a specific meaning known to the wearer. The tattoos are said to be coded as they may have a hidden meaning. These tattoos may be useful in carrying information that can only be interpreted by the wearer. One may put on symbolic tattoos to remind them of an occasion, instructions or show a mark of belonging. Some organizations have their members tattooed with similar symbols to show membership.
Pictorial Tattoos
A person may decide to wear a tattoo which shows a picture of a cow. These tattoos are designed according to the relationship between the wearer and the picture. One may decide to wear a pictorial tattoo of a relative or a pet to remind them of the relationship they have.
Tattoos are not only done to people but also animals. Mostly in animals, tattoos are designed to ease the process of identification. There are artists trained specifically for designing tattoos. The artists give advice and give recommendations to their clients to help them make better decisions.
In conclusion
Every tattoo has a background story known to the wearer. These different inspirations result in the different types of tattoos which are: traumatic tattoos which come naturally or resulting from injuries, amateur tattoos and professional tattoos which are both traditional and modern.
